– YOUR CHOICE FOR A GREENER FUTURE

Dear Denier represents “a new generation of hosiery” with premium products for women who demand more durability, perfect fit, as well as products made with thought for planet, people and animals. The company was founded in 2012 in Copenhagen by Katrine Drost Lewinsky in an entrepreneurial spirit after working for 15 years in the fashion industry. The business has been growing ever since, and in 2017 Katrine’s husband Frederik joined the company. It is now their dream to overcome the environmental challenges of traditional hosiery production and make the most sustainable hosiery possible, with more product categories such as active wear and lingerie soon to launch.

Today Dear Denier is sold in well-known department stores and individual boutiques around all of Europe, UK and the US with many new retailers joining every season.

Sustainability has always been at the very heart of the business. All products are ethically made in Italy. The production is zero-waste, driven by renewable energy and ensures fair and safe labor practices for workers. We use only recycled and low impact materials, and our packaging is FSC certified and recycled. When choosing a pair of tights or leggings from Dear Denier, customers save 4-10 litres of water, 3-5 kWh and 0.5-1.6 kg of CO2e.

In 2020 DD launched the Dear Denier Recycling Initiative – the first big-scale initiative worldwide to focus on the end-of-life management of used tights. We have teamed up with Danish scientists to figure out the best and most sustainable way to recycle tights to prevent them from ending up in landfills or incineration. The ultimate goal is to be able to make new tights from used tights. Until we have found the solution, we will use the discarded tights for recycling experiments and to make other types of sustainable products. For every pair of tights saved from landfills we save 0.8 kg of CO2e.
